In love with motion pictures, Michele has always worked in the camera department—in various roles but always aiming to contribute something to the project.

Based in Rome but with experience in Brazil, UK, Germany and Netherlands, in 2020 Michele Cherchi Palmieri was the cinematographer of Marx can wait, documentary by Marco Bellocchio awarded at Cannes 2021, and camera operator in Sanpa, a Netflix documentary series. In 2019, he filmed Under the Rug, a documentary awarded at the NIFF of London, about three couples of Syrian refugees directed by Ali Younis. Over the years, Cherchi Palmieri has shot several shorts by Giuseppe Zampella (Crisalide, 2013; La Scintilla, 2017; Scena Madre, 2019) and works by Simone Saponieri (Dopo la notte, noi, 2014; L’Aria sul viso, 2017; Un altro giorno, 2018).

Graduated cum laude at the Scuola del Cinema in Milan, Italy, in 2014.
